Dr. Jenny Cowen, Ph.D., is a healthcare executive, licensed clinical psychologist, and clinical researcher with over 25 years of experience spanning academia, biotech, digital therapeutics, and the pharmaceutical industry. Her career bridges clinical research, strategic leadership, and healthcare innovation, with a focus on advancing preventative and interventional treatments for central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Dr. Cowen’s private practice and research center on children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD, ASD, OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Tourette’s Syndrome, and related conditions. She also supports children and families facing the emotional and educational challenges of chronic illness and hospitalization. As a consultant, she offers expertise in strategic planning, research methodology, regulatory compliance, and international commercialization. Her role as consultant involves advising and guiding biotech, pharmaceutical and other companies/organizations within the healthcare sector in bringing novel and innovative therapeutics to market.
Guided by Ahimsa (do no harm) and a belief in never looking the other way, Dr. Cowen has devoted her life to advocacy and compassionate service. A founding volunteer and senior trainer with UCLA’s No One Dies Alone (NODA) program, she provides loving-kindness and comfort to patients in their final hours, as a compassionate companion. Her philanthropic work includes child life volunteering at Mattel Children’s Hospital, granting wishes through Make-A-Wish, and advocating for animal rescue and welfare. As a board member of The Jonathan Foundation, she aligns her expertise and passion for health and education equity with the foundation’s mission to ensure that every child is provided with their inherent birthright for resources and opportunities to thrive and live a life to their fullest potential.
